ALICE ALPER-REIN

Alice Alper-Rein has been creating art jewelry and teaching jewelry making for over 25 years. When fabricating her small scale, sculptural and whimsical creations, she utilizes precious metals, gemstones, dichroic glass and surprise elements. Alice engineers motion, sound and hidden mechanisms into her award winning fine art jewelry, kaleidoscopes and music boxes.  Through her work, Alice’s intention is to convey a story, make a political statement or simply to delight the senses.  She considers herself a “maker,” who is always exploring and integrating new materials and techniques into her work to keep it current, fresh and challenging.

Alice earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and Fine Arts. She also holds a Juris Doctor degree. She can be found teaching introductory classes and master classes in metal fabrication and metal clay throughout the NY/NJ/PA area and at special events throughout the US. In 2004, Alice was invited to become one of just twenty Senior Instructors in the USA teaching the PMC Connection Metal Clay Certification Program.  Some of her classes are now available online  at
CraftEdu.com

A native New Yorker (in case you were wondering about that accent!), Alice now resides in NJ with her supportive husband, Sam and their precious pup, Princess. They are the proud parents of three grown sons and one grandson!
